We asked 2000 Brits about their own reading, writing and comprehension skills.

Many parents dread homework as much as their kids.

34% of Brits said they have anxiety when completing some tasks for fear of making a literacy or spelling mistake. It makes people feel really embarrassed and it's more common than you might think. If you find it hard to understand text, then everyday tasks can present a real barrier.

For example, 9% admitted to not feeling confident helping children with their homework.

What percentage of Brits said they didn't get enough support with reading and writing during their education?

37% of Brits did not feel there were enough resources and technology available during their education to help them with reading, writing and comprehension.

For most, the difficulties start in primary school.

This still impacts their daily life now. We need to get kids the support they need as early as we can.

There are a lot of negative feelings caused by literacy problems. We want to remove the stigma and break the cycle .

We want to make sure people know where and how to get the help they need.
